Nutrition for your Teeth.

Just a few tips to help keep your teeth healthy for life.

Drink Tea

Black and green teas contain polyphenols, antioxidant plant compounds that prevent plaque from adhering to your teeth to help reduce your chances of developing cavities and gum disease. Tea also inhibits the growth of the bacteria that cause bad odor therefore possibly reducing bad breath.

Eat Cheese

If you can't brush or floss after having a soda or sugary treat, just eat a piece of cheddar! Research shows that eating cheese can help reduce cavities in part by neutralizing tooth damaging acid.

Eat 800mg of calcium a day

People who do are less likely to develop severe gum disease, says a recent study by the Buffalo researchers.

Back to School

Hope everyone had a great summer! Hopefully you were able to slow down for at least a week and spend time with family and friends. Now as school quickly approaches and we get back to the frantic rush of bus routes, carpools and homework don't forget to take a breather every now and then. If you can't get away just sit and smile, smile, smile!

Movie Party was a hit despite hiccups!

We hope everyone had a great time at the movie party last night. Since this was our first movie party there were some things that we did not fully anticipate. We greatly appreciate your understanding in the delays that we had while trying to make sure everyone received their tickets, drinks and pizza. As with anything you try to do there is always a learning curve in the beginning. Despite the wait everyone really enjoyed the movies and we gave away some great prizes. Congratulations to Destiny Oakley for winning the bike! We would love to hear your feedback on the movie party, we'd like to know if you enjoyed it more or less than the bowling party. We will have a poll coming out soon and the result of the poll will determine what type of party we have next year. Again thank you to all who came, we always enjoy spending a night away from the office having fun with our patients.

Annual Patient Appreciation Party

At Dr. Rankin's office we know that we would not be where we are if it were not for our patients. We greatly appreciate them and the joy they bring to our office. Because our patients' are so great we celebrate them every year with our Patient Appreciation Party. This year we have switched it up a bit and have decided to have a Movie Party. We are very excited about this new location and hope to make it as fun as the bowling party. Our movie choices are Sorcerer's Apprentice, Shrek 4 & the new Karate Kid. We will still serve pizza and have other activities in the lobby along with great door prizes. Everyone always has their eye on the bike we give away each year! Hope everyone can make it we guarantee a great time to be had by all. It's still not too late to call and reserve your tickets.
